White Egret
This immature White Egret looks for its next meal in the blue waters of Papago Park, Phoenix, Arizona. This image was shot in the early evening (winter) when the sun is low in the sky, producing warm tones and golden water reflections. I never use a polarizer in this type of photo, which would eliminate reflections in the water. I like to see the reflections, making their color and tone a part of the overall composition. This was captured with a Nikon D40 at 400 ISO, and Nikon 55-200mm VR lens handheld. Raw image edited with Raw Therapee 4.0. Digital frame created with Fotosketcher.
