Route 66 Photos, New Mexico
A late summer day on Route 66 near Budville, New Mexico. Two lane blacktop. A man, a camera, and a car. The simple pleasures of the open road. Tracing the old Route 66 between Albuquerque and Grants, New Mexico is indeed one of life’s simple pleasures. Sleepy towns, Native American pueblos, and a history as rich and rugged as the landscape. This stretch of “The Mother Road” weaves through a vista that seems frozen in time. This photo above was captured near Budville, a tiny town about a half hour outside of Albuquerque near Acoma.
This photo shows a view a relic of Route 66 past, perhaps an abandoned motel near Acoma (Sky City) New Mexico. That beautiful New Mexico light really makes a twilight trip along “The Mother Road” truly special.
