It is the late fall on the Rio Grande, and the bosque is in repose. The brilliant gold color of early fall has turned to more somber tones of tan and brown. Yet, the bosque retains a calming beauty that is best appreciated during an afternoon meander. I photographed this view of the bosque in Albuquerque (New Mexico) near the Central Avenue overpass. The term bosque, refers to the strip of tree laden wilderness that straddles the banks of the Rio Grande as it coarses through Albuquerque. Photo by Don Peterson.
